Energy Incubation Program

(Training for University TBIs)

About

Problem:
Despite the growing need for innovation in the energy sector, energy-focused startups remain underrepresented in local startup ecosystems. A needs assessment with (Region X) Northern Mindanao’s Technology Business Incubators (TBIs) revealed two key challenges: limited recognition of energy startup potential and a lack of tailored support. Additionally, roadshows and workshops showed low participation, driven by misconceptions that energy entrepreneurship is overly technical and inaccessible.

Solution:
To bridge the gap in energy entrepreneurship, the Energy Incubation Program Training for University TBIs equips startup enablers with the knowledge and tools to effectively support energy startups. The goal of this intensive 3-day training is to scale efforts in cultivating a strong community of energy entrepreneurs in the Philippines while strengthening the capacity of Technology Business Incubators (TBIs) and similar organizations to guide and nurture the growth of energy-focused ventures.
